Camelo de las Bermudas Hoax Bermuda

Todos hemos oído hablar del triángulo de las Bermudas, y las extrañas desapariciones, en el que las Bermudas  son un vértice del triángulo, pero no voy hablar de los sucesos que allí suceden, ni de los pantalones cortos.

Las Bermudas fueron descubiertas para Europa, por el marino onubense (Huelva – Andalucía) Juan Bermúdez al mando de la carabela “La Garza”, en un principio les dio el nombre de su barco, aunque al final el nombre fue un homenaje a su descubridor, en lo que no se ponen de acuerdo los estudioso es el año exacto del descubrimiento, aunque Guadalupe Fernández Morente, autora de “Juan Bermúdez, descubridor de las Islas Bermudas”, se decanta por el viaje de vuelta de América, que había partido del puerto de Huelva en julio de 1505, en la vuelta a España cambio el rumbo habitual, en ese nuevo rumbo se encuentra la corriente del Golfo (cuyo descubrimiento se atribuye al onubense (Huelva – Andalucía) Antón de Alaminos en 1518), Bermúdez entre 1495 y 1519 cruzó el Atlántico 22 veces (11 España – América, 11 América – España), la última travesía con 69 años, todo un record.

El diccionario de la RAE (Real Academia Española), define camelo, 1. Noticia falsa, 2. Dicho o discurso intencionadamente desprovisto de sentido, 3. Simulación, fingimiento, apariencia engañosa. 4.  Galanteo. 5. Chasco, burla.
El 29/11/1527 y el 20/12/1527 en Burgos se conceden las Reales Cédulas haciendo asiento o capitulación con Hernán (o Fernán) Camelo, hidalgo portugués, vecino y habitante en la isla de San Miguel de las Azores, para poblar de cristianos a su costa de la isla Bermuda, pero nunca se produjo, en el Archivo General de Indias existe un documento de 1604 con la relación  de méritos y servicios del asturiano (Avilés) Bartolomé Carreño, en el que se dice, como descubridor de la isla Bermuda, en realidad Carreño fue el que hace la descripción de las islas y es el primero que las explora, era 1538.
España no tuvo mucho interés por estas islas, aunque cerca de su costa se hundieron no pocos barcos, en 1609 se establece una colonia de la Compañía de Virginia, aunque en 1613 -1614 existen por parte de la Audiencia de Santo Domingo (hoy República Dominicana) providencias y otros documentos relativos al desalojo de los ingleses, pero la Compañía de Virginia ya se mantuvo en la isla hasta que en 1684 la isla pasa a la Corona Británica.

Hubo algún que otro Camelo portugués en el Nuevo Mundo, en 1616 Andrés Camelo maestre (Revista General de Marina 07/2012, Inés María Santos García. El oficio de Maestre en la carrera de Indias. Maestre, junto con el piloto y el capitán, el maestre ocupaba la cúspide del poder en un buque mercante del siglo XVI, era el administrador del barco) del navío “Santa Catalina” para cargar esclavos desde las costas africanas hasta Nueva España (Centroamérica, Suroeste de EEUU) y Tierra Firme (Panamá, Costa Rica), o Francisco Camelo, natural de Villamayor, del Obispado de Oporto (Portugal), que falleció en el valle de Santo Domingo en Nueva Granada (Colombia, Venezuela), en 1636, sin testamento, aunque sus bienes se recogen en 295 hojas, siendo sus herederos su hermana Ana y sobrinos.
No me digan que no hubiera quedado mejor, pensando lo que paso en el futuro, triángulo de los Camelos o triángulo del Camelo.

On 29/11/1527 and on 20/12/1527 in Burgos (Spain) it was granted the Royal Cedulas,  making seat or capitulation with Hernán (or Fernán) Camelo, Portuguese nobleman, neighbor and inhabitant in the island of  San Miguel of the Azores, to populate of Christians at his own expense of Bermuda, but never it was done, in the General Archive of the Indies there is a document of 1604, with the list of merits and services of the Asturian (Aviles – Asturias) Bartolome Carreño, in what it is said, as discoverer from Bermuda, in reality, Carreño was who did the description of the islands and he was the first that explored the islands, it was 1538.
Spain didn’t have a lot of interest for these islands, although near of its coast, no few ships sank, in 1609 it was established a colony of The Virginia Company, although in 1613-1614 existed for part of the Audience of Santo Domingo (Today Dominican Republic), providences and other documents concerning the eviction of the Englishmen, but the Virginia Company, already maintained in the island until that in 1684 the island passed to the Britain Crown.

There was some that other Camelo Portuguese in the New World, in 1616 Andres Camelo maestre, (Marine General Magazine 07/2012, Ines Maria Santos Garcia. Do not tell me that it should had not been better, thinking what it succeeded in the future,  triangle of the Camelos or Camelo triangle.
